Love to Read, Arbors at Arundel Preserve? Check Out Something New at the Severn Community Library!

It’s important for children to develop strong literacy skills, and it’s a bonus if in the process of doing so they learn to love to read. Severn Community Library aims to promote both outcomes with its robust slate of children’s programming.

Infants under 18 months will benefit from the library’s “babies” programming, which incorporates singing and rhyming into playtime activities. Bring slightly older children to “toddler time,” when they’ll enjoy age-appropriate stories and songs. School-age kids will enjoy themed learning and crafting experiences, like the “Ice Age” session featuring stories and crafts about glaciers and mammoths, or the “Hibernation” workshop where kids learn about what animals do during the long winter months.

Of course, the library also has plenty of books and activities for teens and adults, too, so stop by next time you’re looking for a new novel to enjoy back at Arbors at Arundel Preserve!
